Rose and Cardamom: The Flavor That Travels
Share
Cardamom is my forever spice. I can’t remember when I first had it, but I do know I am always in love with it. Slap a pastry with some cardamom and I am so there for it! Chai with all it’s yummy cardamom is probably my favorite tea. And OH EM GEEEE … put it in coffee and I’m your BFF! It makes coffee feel elegant and even more delicious. In Taipei, I ordered a rose cardamom coffee at a hotel café and it stopped me in my tracks. Floral, warm, a little romantic, with whole rose buds as a finishing touch. It was a reminder that small ingredients can transport you. It was the first time I had rose water in my coffee and I’m a convert. Plus it was pretty!!
That is what I love about coffee when it is done well. It becomes more than a drink. It becomes memory, atmosphere, and emotion all at once.
A lot of people think flavored coffee has to mean syrup overload or something that tastes like dessert. But in many parts of the world, spices are used differently in a layered, balanced and intentioned way.
Travel has influenced almost every part of the way I approach coffee every place leaves something behind.
That is really the heart of Wanderlust Coffee Co. I don’t just want coffee to taste good. I want it to feel like an elevated experience.
